If you are doing a new car comparison, it is important to compare apples to apples. It would be foolish to compare a SUV to a compact car as these two vehicles are meant for different markets. Instead, take one class of car and drill down to see which one is right for you.

Let’s take the coupe market first and compare the Volkswagen Golf, Dodge Caliber, Kia Soul Exclaim and Mazda 3S Sport. These cars are priced between $17,000 and $19,000. One difference is that the Golf has a 2.5 liter engine while the 3S Sport has only a 2 liter engine. The Exclaim Soul and Sport have significantly lower displacement than the Golf or Caliber. And, if safety is a consideration, the Kia does not have front side airbags but the other 3 do.

There are similarities and differences at the other end of the spectrum as well. Two very similar cars are the Rolls Royce Ghost and the Mercedes Benz S-Class. But, the prices of the two cars are not very similar. The Ghost starts at $245,000 while the S-Class starts at $133,000.

The small SUV market also has similarities and differences. We’ll look at four vehicles here: the Kia Sportage, Suzuki Sportback, Nissan Rogue, and Mitsubishi Outlander. These vehicles range in price from $19,000 to $22,000. Some of the differences are apparent in horsepower. The Sportage has only 140 horses while the Rogue comes in at 170. The vehicles also differ in their highway miles to the gallon with the Sportage coming in last at 25 miles to the gallon and the Sportback in first place at 30.

When you do a new car comparison, make sure you are comparing apples to apples. A Mini Cooper is not in the same class as a minivan and shouldn’t be treated as such.

If you are looking for a cheap car, you don’t have to head to the junk yard. There are plenty of ways to get a new car cheaply. This article will show you a number of ways to drive off the lot in your dream lot without paying hellish prices.

One way to get the monthly payments down is to lease the car. Generally, a leased car payment will be about 60 percent of the monthly payment if you were going to own it. Better yet, you can turn that car in every 3 years and get a new one. If you are willing to take a slightly used car, take the lease off someone else’s hands and they’ll chip in on the monthly payment.

The next piece of advice I have is to consider buying last year’s model. You’ll still get a new car, but it won’t be the newest version. Every September, the manufacturers send in the next years model. But dealers still have the current – and sometimes even the past – year’s models on the lot. They are eager to get rid of these cars to make way for the new and will often give you a good deal.

Want to get the best deal possible at the dealership? Then arm yourself with the facts. Know what the dealer needs to break even and then give him a reasonable, but not excessive, profit. When you know going in just how low the dealer can go, you can often get a new cheap car.

Unlike dealers, manufacturers can be more generous with their rebates and other incentives. Look for cash back, low financing rates, and other features the head office offers to move their vehicles.

If there is anything better than cheap, it’s free. If you’re up to putting ads all over your car, you can sometimes get an advertising company to wrap your car in an ad and let you drive it for free. There is the most availability for this in college towns and big cities.

Do you want a new vehicle on a trim budget? Don’t despair. There are ways to get a new cheap car.

If you are looking for a cool new cars, I suggest you head on over to Edmunds.com for some great shopping.
A lot of people do not have an avid knowledge about the Mazda Tribute. This compact SUV is great! It handles well on the road, and the overall performance of the vehicle is outstanding. If you have not gotten the opportunity to test drive on of these vehicles for yourself, you have no idea what your missing out on.

If you were to ask someone to drive the vehicle and measure it by its driving abilities, many people would be shocked to find out that its an SUV not a small car. The Tribute comes with a powerful V6 engine that adds to the amount of power that you can expect to experience with the vehicle.

The Tribute was first introduced in 2001, and since its introduction has been making a large scene in the world of SUV’s. Upon its release the Tribute gained a humorous metaphoric comparison to the Miata.

You can comfortably fit up to five passengers in this luxurious SUV. The interior of the vehicle is full of state of the art equipment which helps to make the ride not only enjoyable for the driver, but for the passengers of the vehicle as well.

There are three different body styles that you will be given the option to choose from. You can select the Sporty style, the Touring style, or the Grand Touring Style.

For some, a V6 engine seems a little too powerful. If you are someone that feels that you simply cannot handle a V6 engine then you should opt to get one of the 4 cylinder style Tributes instead.

The ride quality of the vehicle cannot be beat by any of its top leading competitors. You can choose to utilize the SUV to haul large amounts of stuff at one time or to simply drive your family around in for a peaceful day.

The Tribute is being called one of the best in its class. If your seeking out a vehicle that is going to be able to drive wonderfully, and is incredibly attractive on the both the inside as well as the outside, then the Tribute is right up your ally.

However, surprisingly enough the Mazda Tribute is not getting the amount of attention that it rightfully deserves. In fact, more people are shying away from the vehicle then is to be expected.

If your a smart driver, and you know what to look for in a vehicle, the Mazda Tribute will suit your needs nicely.

You should really think well before you decide to buy a once used jeep. The first thing you should look into before you decide to buy is to study the brand of the vehicle and the vehicle itself thoroughly. Initially, before you decide to buy a jeep first get a clear picture of what you are exactly looking for.

I have this fascination for jeeps and I would like you to know that there are many kinds of jeeps including the Willy jeeps, custom jeeps, civilian jeeps, ww2 jeeps, the grand Cherokee and others.

What you need to look for when you purchase a new or used jeep that is put on for sale, varies based on the type of the jeep and what it is or would be used for. In case of new jeep, you better find out why it is put on for sale. If you think that the price is very low, then don’t forget to enquire about the warranty of the vehicle. Also ask why the price is so less. There could be a catch, so be careful. Don’t be hasty in taking a decision.

You will have to be more alert if you are planning to go for a really used vehicle. Remember to keep the following points in mind before you commit yourself to but it. Primarily, check out why the jeep is for sale. Get it thoroughly checked by your own vehicle mechanic to get a clear idea about its working condition. Do not forget to look into the kilometer reading to know how much distance it has already done, as this will be a vital factor in settling the rate. The fewer kilometers covered, the higher will be the rate.

Check the distance it has traveled, that could be helpful in bargaining if possible – greater is the distance traveled lesser the price. Check the condition of the tires, if they are worn out. May be you should take a long test drive -if the previous owner has no problem with that- and check if the gears are sluggish. Inquire about the vehicle mileage.

Another important matter you should enquire about is whether this jeep has had any road mishaps. And whatever said and done, do not forget to have it checked by your regular mechanic. In case you are going for army vehicles, especially the jeeps that go uneven lands, do not forget to examine tyre cracks in places where maximum pressure is applied. Also, examine whether the engine has perfectly a regular and easy pace running.

Thus you should enquire about all the jeeps for sale in the market, get an expert to check up the vehicle completely before committing to buy a jeep. Here’s wishing you all the very best in buying your jeep. Let us hope that you really get a sturdy one.

Are you looking for a Jeep for sale? Why dont you check out some of the great deals available from our store. Perhaps you’re looking for a Jeep Wrangler for sale. Well, it’s your lucky day coz we sell them to.
There is a whole lot of brand equity invested in the Lexus logo, it is a well created impression that someone gets if they think about the car. No doubt what crosses their mind are words such as luxury, comfort and reliability.

Lexus was originally launched in 1983 by Japanese car manufacturer Toyota. The Toyota Company wanted to launch a range of luxury vehicles that would cost more because of all the bonuses that go with owning a luxury car. However they didn’t want consumers to get distracted by the prices of the Lexus when the Toyota was an affordable and user friendly car. The Lexus brand then expanded to the US in 1989 and was only introduced in to the Japanese market in 2005.

This late introduction in to the Japanese market was because up until 2005, Lexus was still a division of parent and founding company Toyota. In 2005 Lexus became a company separate to that of Toyota even though the company still has a large share in the Lexus organisation.

Lexus has become synonymous with luxury, comfort, style as well as a fairly hefty price tag. The competitors that Lexus goes up against are companies BMW and Mercedes Benz. Whilst these are well established automobile manufacturers and have been around for a long time, Lexus has made a significant foot print in the automobile market and is in fact a keen competitor of both of these highly successful brands.

The range of cars that Lexus produces includes sedans, SUVs, convertibles and coupes. So no matter what style of car you are looking for, Lexus will be able to offer it to you.

Other than this, Lexus adds real value by ensuring that they offer great customer service and that all of their cars provide the highest standards of reliability. The success of this strategy is in evidence by the fact that the company has received a vote as the Most Reliable Brand no less than fourteen times. When you consider the fact that the United States is one of the markets that has such a lot of competition and consumers are spoilt for choice, then this is a great achievement.

Possibly the biggest draw card for a person who is looking for a new car to be interested in a Lexus is the ingenuity that the designers and engineers at Lexus have in terms of the hybrid models. In a time when people are worried about the environment and everyone wants to go green and yet still have the convenience of a car, Lexus developed their hybrid models.

A hybrid is a car that has a combination of both electric and gasoline motors and is able to run on both. This combination leads to an increase in the amount of power the car produces, causes the car to be far more fuel efficient and most importantly, means that the emissions from the car are much lower than a car that runs on gasoline alone.

Lexus has proved that age is not everything in the car manufacturing market and is a very serious contender in the global stage. It is likely that this company will continue to be incredibly influential in the years to come.

The 2009 Ford Edge is a high-end crossover SUV manufactured by the Ford motor company, based on the Ford CD3 platform shared with the old generation Mazda6 and is marketed in a ever so slightly adapted form as the Lincoln MKX. The platform is shared with others, including the Mazda CX-9 crossover, the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and the Lincoln sedans.

The Edge attempts to bridge the gap that exists between minivans, such as the now discontinued Freestar, and the more truck-like SUVs, for example the Explorer. Ford officially places the Edge lower down than the Taurus in the crossover Sports utility vehicle lineup, despite not being noticeable smaller.

As a crossover vehicle, the Edge bridges the gap between minivans like the since discontinued Freestar, and truck-based sport utility vehicles such as the Explorer. The Edge officially slots below the Taurus X in Ford’s crossover SUV lineup, although it is not much smaller than that model.

A 3. 5 liter V6 engine powers the 2009 Ford Edge, which kicks out an impressive 265 horsepower through a 6 speed automatic transition. All-wheel drive is available, but front wheel drive is the standard. The SUV boasts many safety features such as anti-lock brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and AdvanceTrac electronic stability control. The airbags are front seat-mounted side-impact, front/rear curtain and front impact as standard.

The Edge series made its public debut at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January 2006, with production starting in the October 2006 as a 2007 model, with the first ones reaching dealerships just before December 25, 2006, because of a brief delay in production due to issues with the supplier. The 2009 Ford Edge implements Ford’s front end design with a three bar chrome grille.

In the US its fuel economy is rated at 15 to 16 mpg-US in city driving and 22 to 24 mpg-US on the highway. The Edge is available in both front-wheel drive and in all-wheel drive. It was initially introduced in late 2007 with the three trim levels SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, however the SEL Plus was superseded by the Limited trim in 2008.

The 2009 Ford Edge has standard features that include cruise control; air conditioning; driver’s seat lumbar support; power windows, power mirrors and power door locks; tilt and telescoping steering wheel; P235/65R17 tires on alloy wheels; and remote keyless entry. Its safety features include standard airbags as well as side curtain and front side-impact airbags, traction control, anti-lock brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and an electronic stability control.

The Ford Expedition is a wonderful SUV. I actually own one myself and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I have driven vans, cars and a truck and now that I have my Ford Expedition I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. This sport utility vehicle has definitely changed my life and the way my kids ride. We purchased our 2006 Ford Expedition approximately 6 months ago now. It had 63, 000 miles on it and the price was very affordable for all the features that it came with. We only paid $15, 000 thousand dollars for it. Let me tell you it was well worth it.

All the standard Ford Expeditions come equipped with the latest technologies, CD player, AM/FM player, power windows, cruise control, a roof rack, tilt steering, power seats, automatic transmission and air conditioning some even come with a navigation system. The newer models start out around 35, 000 dollars and go as high as 55, 000 dollars depending on what features you would like.

It is nice to have a family of 7 who can sit comfortably in a car without being cramped up and still have room to seat friends. I love being able to take my Ford Expedition to the store or to the beach and we can pack it down and still have plenty of room to move around.

The Ford Expedition rides smooth, handles curves well and even has a great towing capacity. We have a pontoon boat and have had no problem hooking the trailer up and dragging the pontoon anywhere we want to go.

Even with the large size of the Ford Expedition the gas mileage has been pretty well if you drive a lot of highway miles. In my van it costs me approximately 35-40 dollars to fill up which is the same as in the Expedition. There is about a few dollar differences but overall about the same.

All Ford Expeditions comes with 4 doors so that you have easy access to climbing in and out. The Ford Expedition also has a sporty look because with all the features they also come with running boards which make climbing into the Ford Expedition easy.

Overall I would have to rate the Ford Expedition a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. It drives well, it has an affordable price tag and there is plenty of room that the whole family can ride and still have room. The only downfall that I have with the Ford Expedition is that with us living out in the country our drive distance is pretty far and with a bigger gas tank we have to fill up more often than I like.

I'm a bit of a 4WD buff, I always have been. From climbing impossible mountains to cruising through the sand dunes for an ocean fishing expedition, I just love getting out there, into places unreachable by foot or road.

I’m a bit of a 4WD buff, I always have been. From climbing impossible mountains to cruising through the sand dunes for an ocean fishing expedition, I just love getting out there, into places unreachable by foot or road.

Recently while driving my jeep through the outback of Australia, I hit a kangaroo. I was only meandering along at the time so I didn’t damage the jeep, (and the kangaroo bounded away with little more than a fright) but it really got me thinking about bullbar protection. If I was going any faster, I could have seriously damaged my 4X4 to the extent that I was stuck, waiting for another offroad buff to get me out of trouble.

So I called my mates at All Vehicle Accessories in Melbourne. They told me about these innovative new “plastic bullbars”. Having not heard about them before and being a bit bewildered by the chat (I mean, how can plastic protect my jeep?) I decided to do some research. This is what I found out.

Frontal protection products are designed to do 3 things in a collision. They are designed to 1. Protect the passengers in the vehicle. 2. Protect the vehicle in a collision. 3. Pretect the object being struck in a collision. So that was my first point of reference. Which product did a better job in a collision, the bullbar or the smartbar?

Talking about protection generally, I find it strange how many bullbar exponents out there point out that when you are travelling at 150kms/h, no matter what you hit, its going to be fatal to the object and probably the vehicle. Personally I think such arguments are ridiculous as they suggest all collissions are at excessive speeds and dismiss the relative safety performance of the products at lower speeds. But just to make it clear to everyone, when we are comparing these products along safety lines, we are comparing performance at the fatal margin. This means we are comparing safety performance at the point where an impact will kill a pedestrian, or buckle your chassis to the extent that your vehicle is written off.

The difference in performance of the two products comes about due to the relative rigidity which is a result of their make up. In a nutshell, bullbars are designed to be solid, rigid and inflexible. The immovable object protecting your car. Smartbars are designed to absorb, cushion and decelerate the forces of an impact. There are many independent studies on the two, all showing the same thing. The simple fact is that smartbars work better to protect everyone. Do some research, the facts are clear and available.

To put this point in perspective though, into words you can feel, smartbars are made out of similar materials that they make those big wheelie bins from. Imagine you fell over in the street and smacked your head into a big iron postal box. It would hurt right? Now compare the same fall if your head hit the middle of one of those big wheelie bins. The bin would cushion the impact somewhat and the damage to your forehead would not nearly be so bad. (Or painful for that matter) Thats the way the smartbars work.

Beyond protection, there is the matter of performance. Given smartbars are significantly lighter than bullbars, its not hard to see that this equates to better fuel consumption, better tyre wear, better suspension wear and safer handling for your vehicle. Vehicles just drive better with a smartbar. Did you also know that the construction of a smartbar creates about 1% of the greenhouse emissions that bullbar construction creates? Better performance on the road, better performance for the environment.

And then there is maintenance. One thing I’ve learned to hate about 4WDing over the years is the polishing, buffing and the pure elbow grease required to keep metal parts rust free and shiney. With the smartbar, there are no metal parts. A bucket of soapy water and a sponge is all you need to clean it and get back to planning your next trip.

These are the facts I found when researching frontal protection products for my Jeep. The protection of my family was my #1 consideration, so getting this right was important to me. If you are considering frontal protection products I encourage you to do your own research, try to seperate fact from the immense amount of image based opinion out there, and pick the product that best suits your purpose.

Smartbar or bullbars, Damian Papworth researched the facts while preparing for his next trip.
